Know the impact of every purchase.
Farm to Institution Metrics
We partner with institutions committed to improving the impact of their food purchases. We’re well-versed purchasing pledges and meet institutions where they are along their process of achieving them. We can help you assess the baseline impact of your procurement practices, offer ways to improve, and help you communicate the difference you’re making. Our regional network of food hubs offers bite-sized solutions to institutional procurement leaders: we find the produce, proteins, and products that help your institution be a leader in values-based procurement.

Track the type and location of each business that produced the final product you serve. Each product in our catalog is from an local, independently or cooperatively owned and operated farm or food business.
Farm Identity
Know your farmer! Does your food contain local farm sourced ingredients that are identity-preserved (can be traced back to the original farm)? All the products in our catalog can be traced back to the farm where they were grown.
Ownership
Farm ownership matters. Many institutions are tracking how their purchases can be leveraged for racial justice and gender equality. This metric tells you whether the product is from a woman or minority-owned business.

Maybe you’re trying to serve less meat to benefit the environment and reduce your institution’s carbon footprint? Track the type of product with 10 different product categories such as produce, meat, prepared foods, etc.
Farm Impact
Are the products you are serving truly local? With this metric you can track the percentage of the item that consists of ingredients sourced from farms within the local region so you can report on true farm impact.
Market Channel
You can track whether the products you buy come directly from the farmer, through a food hub, or from a distributor. All the products in our catalog come from farmer-owned and controlled cooperative food hubs.
